Today we mourn the tragic loss of MIA Mom, Katia Roos, who early this morning lost her life, together with her husband & 12-year old son Brandon. Her younger son, Jordan aged 9, escaped through a bedroom window & was the sole survivor of the devistating blaze at their homePlease join us in praying for the extended family during their time of grief

What a tragic loss this is. My prayers go out to Jordan and the family. I was not very close to Katia but did have the honor of knowing her. I remember well how she volunteered to cook all the breyani curry for our international evening and we all thought she was crazy, how only last week I bought some furniture she was selling and had a laugh with her about the stress of moving houses and wished her good luck. I feel a deep, deep sadness at this terrible news and it is with great fondness that I will remember her !

ReplyDeleteA memorial service was held at the school this aftern & the funeral will be in Durban tomorrow.
ReplyDeletehi, the memorial service was at the Catholic church in Westville, Durban on Thursday 6th August. I was at junior school with Katia and deeply saddened by the news. We are old family friends. The whole family needs our prayers right now, and any fanancial help would be really appreciated. Katia's sister and her husband are going to look after Jordan.
ReplyDeleteIs there any truth in the rumours that Manie set the house on fire on purpose?I've read this article wherein it is alleged that a docket of arson was opened and it also came to light the security door in the passage was locked from the inside?
